I live in a sub-tropical climate and so I don’t see a prominent display of color during the fall as most of y’all see. I grew up in the foothills of the Smokey Mountains, though, where the fall puts on a beautiful display each year.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! To me fall is a time of changing back to routines, such as starting back to school or hunkering down at work. It’s about pumpkins, football, and the calm before the storm of upcoming holiday chaos. But one thing I particularly like about fall is that it is a favorite time of the year for families to have outdoor family portraits made.
Whether by an amateur or professional photographer, family portraits are still popular. Maybe because parents are documenting the growth of their children, or soon-to-be parents documenting their pending child’s birth, or maybe a fall wedding. If you are getting your family’s portraits made, what do you plan to do with the photos? Will they be received as digital or hardcopy? Will they be displayed on the wall of your home? Will they be tucked away in an envelope for later? What about creating a seasonal scrapbook for your family fall portraits – a Fall Family Portrait Scrapbook? That way, your family portraits will be organized and at your fingertips anytime you want to walk down memory lane.
Fall means documenting the passage of time. So, I look to the season for my theme and layouts. I love finding ways to incorporate nature, that is specific to the season, in Fall Family Portrait Scrapbooks. Like using the colors of the season to capture the feeling of fall: warm color schemes found in leaves or dried flowers as part of a background layout. Often, I use my favorite fall icons in repeating patterns, such as pumpkins, Halloween, or apple picking. Using different textures that give a fall rustic feeling, like burlap and twine also works for creating a Fall Family Portrait Scrapbook.
Fall is a great opportunity to celebrate family and to create those lifetime memories through scrapbooking. Whether it is a stroll through the changing leaves, visiting a pumpkin patch or fall festival, making a Fall Family Portrait Scrapbook will preserve those precious memories dressed in the rich colors of fall. So why not Fall into your Memories.
